Sculpta was born from a simple frustration: why did the shapewear that was trending on TikTok in New York and London never make it here?
The Beginning
A Closet Full of Disappointments
Like many women, our founder Ama spent hours on TikTok watching bodysuits sculpt silhouettes, smooth waists, lift curves. She would order. She would wait. And when the package finally arrived — international shipping, customs fees, three weeks of waiting — the result was never up to par.
Either the size didn't match South African standards. Or the quality was disappointing. Or the price, once converted to rands and added to fees, made the purchase absurd. She had enough.
I wanted the same bodysuit as Thandi in Johannesburg, as Fatima in Cape Town, as Lerato in Pretoria — without sacrificing three weeks and half a salary.
So she stopped ordering from abroad. She studied US and UK trends — the materials, the cuts, the compression levels that are crushing it on SKIMS, on TikTok Shop, at the major shapewear brands. She found the right manufacturing partners. And in 2024, Shapebodyluxe was born.

Market research
Months analyzing TikTok US/UK trends, shapewear bestsellers, and thousands of women's reviews. Identified what was missing in South Africa: premium quality, inclusive sizing, accessible prices. -
Mid-2023
First prototypes
Twelve prototypes. Forty fittings. Dozens of feedback from women of all body types. The Seamless Sculpt Bodysuit emerged as the flagship product after beating every competitor in blind tests. -
January 2024
Official launch
The store opens. The first 50 bodysuits sold out in 48 hours. First reviews arrive: "This is finally what we've been waiting for in SA." Word of mouth does the rest. -

2,400 customers and counting
